Teenage boy injured in fall from bluff at Maquoketa Caves S.P.

JACKSON COUNTY (KWWL) -

A teenage boy is in the hospital after he fell several feet at an eastern Iowa state park Saturday.

The Jackson County Sheriff says a 14-year-old boy fell nearly 40 feet from one of the bluffs at Maquoketa Caves State Park.

It happened just after 11 a.m. Saturday.

It's not clear what caused him to fall or exactly where he was in the park.

His name has not been released but the sheriff says the boy is from Illinois.

He was taken to a local hospital where his condition has not been released.
