Police say an officer-involved shooting in Cedar Rapids Saturday morning has injured a suspect. It happened around 7 a.m. at the Advance Auto Parts store on Center Point Rd. NE. Police say a store employee saw a man kicking a vehicle in the parking lot. They say the man then quickly turned his attention to the employee, who ran back inside the store and locked the door. They say the man was then able to get inside the store. One minute after police arrived, the officer called out shots fired and requested backup. The suspect was taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds. His name and condition have not been released. The store employee received minor injuries. The Division of Criminal Investigation has been called in to assist Cedar Rapids Police with the investigation. The officer's name has not been released.
