Zach Johnson captures 10th PGA tour win

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (KWWL) -

A nearly flawless final 18 holes and great green play propelled Zach Johnson to the top spot at the BMW Championship.  The win was the 10th of his career.

Johnson opened the round trailing 3rd round leader Jim Furyk by 3 strokes, but a bogey free round, and birdies at holes 2, 7 and 8 quickly pulled him within a stroke of the lead.  Johnson put himself on the top of the leader board with a solid 13 foot putt at the 12th to move himself to 14 under.

It was at the 16th, when things really turned his way.  Johnson sat inches in to the first cut of rough off the green, but hit a brilliant, curving, downhill birdy putt to the bottom of the cup for the outright lead.  A birdy, par finish sealed the deal.

The win catapulted Zach Johnson from 27th to 4th in the FedEx Cup standings.
