CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

The halftime show at the University of Northern Iowa may have just gotten a bit bigger – this year’s Panther Marching Band is the largest in school history.

There are currently 280 members.

Director Danny Galyen said that this is an exciting time for the program.

"It means we're able to fill the Dome with more sound,” Galyen said. “We're just able to do a lot of things with a bigger band that we had a hard time doing with a smaller one."

Galyen said the band has been growing at a steady rate since 2007. UNI officials also said that with the increase in size comes an increase in program growth.
