Hazleton woman hurt after falling off motorcycle

A Hazleton woman has been hospitalized after falling off the back of a motorcycle Tuesday night near Independence.

The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to the intersection of Highway 150 and Otterville Boulevard at around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a motorcycle accident.

Once on scene, deputies determined that Lisa Blake fell off the back of a motorcycle being driven by Scott Blake after he turned onto Otterville Boulevard from Highway 150.

Lisa Blake was taken by ambulance to the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence before being flown to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Deputy Cory Hartman says they believe Lisa Blake is in stable condition.

The accident remains under investigation.
