UPDATE: Authorities capture wanted Wisconsin man

Posted: Updated:
GRANT COUNTY, Wis. (KWWL) - Authorities in Grant County, Wis., say they have found a man wanted on homicide charges.

James M. Kruger, 36, was wanted by the Madison Police Department on attempted homicide charges and the Platteville Police Department and Grant County Sheriff's Office on other charges.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office says Kruger went to a home in Cassville, Wisconsin on Tuesday morning, assaulted a man and took several guns. After Kruger left the home, the sheriff's office received reports that shots had been fired south of Cassville.

While deputies searched for Kruger, a woman in a home outside of Cassville called the sheriff's office reporting that a man pointed a gun at her and then took another man hostage and stole his vehicle with a cattle trailer attached.

Deputies later found that the trailer had been unhooked along a back road and the male hostage had been dropped off in Dodgeville, unharmed.

Deputies say Kruger was later taken into custody in Dane County after a high speed chase.
