Waterloo schools adjust after school activities for Tuesday due to heat

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The Waterloo Community School District has made adjustments to athletic schedules due to high temperatures expected on Tuesday.

- The district has moved all middle school athletics practices inside for Tuesday.

- The volleyball matches between Carver and Bunger will take place as scheduled.

- The volleyball matches between Central-Peet and Hoover-Holmes are postponed. Rescheduled matches will be determined at a later date.

- The Waverly-Shell Rock Middle School Cross Country meet in Waverly has been canceled. Central and Hoover’s Cross Country teams will hold practice indoors at their buildings.

- After school activity bus transportation will be available and run during normal scheduled times at all middle schools.

In the high schools:

- Metro Golf Meet in Cedar Falls will start at 1:00pm with East, West, and Columbus

- East High will run Cross Country at Waverly Shell-Rock with Jr. High beginning at 5:00pm and a rolling start for everyone else. High School to start at approximately 6:15pm.

- East High will host Dubuque Senior in Volleyball (Miller Gymnasium) at 5:30pm

- East High Swimming will practice beginning at 3:00pm

- East High football practice will begin at 6:00pm outside

- West High hosts a swim meet at Central Middle School beginning at 6:00pm

- West High Varsity Volleyball will be traveling to Dubuque Wahlert with the contest beginning at 5:30pm

- West High will host 9th Grade Volleyball with Don Bosco (Siddens Gymnasium) beginning at 4:00pm

- West High Football and Cross Country practice will begin at 6:30pm outside

- West High Band will practice at 6:30pm

- West High Fall Play tryouts will begin at 3:00pm in an air conditioned room
