CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

The City of Cedar Rapids has decided to keep their splash pads open an extra week due to the current heat wave.

The city originally planned to turn off their 10 splash pads on Sunday but announced on Monday morning that they would stay open this week "due to the unusually warm weather."

The splash pads are located at Cedar Valley Park, Cleveland Park, Daniels Park, Hayes Park, Hidder Park, Jacolyn Park, Noelridge Park, Redmond Park, Time Check Park and Twin Pines Park.
