It was a sea of Corvettes at the Port of Dubuque Saturday afternoon. More than 200 Corvettes were on display as a part of Vettes on the River, an annual Corvette show. Vettes on the River is in its third year. This was the first year the event was open to the public in Dubuque. While the cars glistened in the sun, many walked around to admire, but not touch the cars on display. Michael Van Buer is a member of the Key City Corvette Club.
"Corvettes are America's true and only sports car that has been in existence since 1953," he said. "So they have a tremendous following, a tremendous history, and they are beautiful cars."
Saturday's event raised more than $6200, which will benefit Hospice of Dubuque, Wounded Warriors, and the Midwest Corvette Child and Family Relief Fund.
