North Liberty holding reception for police chief finalists

Posted: Updated:
NORTH LIBERTY (KWWL) -

The City of North Liberty will be holding an informal reception for the four finalists for the police chief opening on Sept. 11.

The reception will be held at the North Liberty Community Library from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The finalists for the position are Michael Brotherton, currently with the Iowa City Police Department; Jason Doll of Carlisle; Brad Nelson of Columbia, Missouri; and Diane Venenga of North Liberty, currently the interim police chief for North Liberty.

A fifth finalist, Cliff Sessoms of Marion, Ind., withdrew his name from consideration earlier this week.

At the reception, residents will have the chance to meet the candidates and offer input to city staff.

The city hopes to name the new police chief this fall.
