WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Three students were honored Thursday morning at Carver Academy for their heroic acts in last week's dog attack.

Tanner Cornwell (6th grade), KaRon Bennett (8th grade) and William McNealy (8th grade) helped save Vivien Brookman on Tuesday, August 27 when she was attacked by three dogs in Waterloo. Police say their efforts likely saved Brookman's life.

Waterloo Schools Superintendent Dr. Gary Norris, Waterloo Mayor Buck Clark, Councilman Quentin Hart, Safety Services Director Dan Trelka and Jim Denholm from CUNA Mutual Group were on hand to honor the boys.
