CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

The proposed $165 million casino in Cedar Rapids will be called the Cedar Crossing Casino, officials said Tuesday.

The Cedar Rapids Development Group and the Linn County Gaming Association submitted an application for a gambling structure to the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission on Tuesday morning.

The proposed casino will be a 171,000 square-foot facility with 840 slot machines, 25 table games and five poker tables. It will house three restaurants and a lounge.

It’s expected to employ more than 450 people and expected to have an economic impact of $75 million annually.

The Linn County Gaming Association stands to become the casino’s co-licensee if the casino license is awarded.
