The Linn County Sheriff's Office says an Ely bicyclist was injured Monday evening after running a stop sign.
Sergeant S.A. Humphrey says deputies were called to the intersection of Dows Street and Main Street at around 5:37 p.m. Monday for a report of an accident involving a vehicle and a bicycle.
Humphrey says 45-year-old Christopher Webster was riding his bike south on Main Street when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Dows Street and was struck by a vehicle being driven by 42-year-old Keith Neubauer of Swisher.
Webster was taken to St. Luke's Hospital to be treated for his injuries and is expected to recover. Humphrey says he was not wearing a helmet and was ticketed for failing to stop.
