NORTON, Mass. (KWWL) -

Zach Johnson wasn't aware of it at the time, but his final birdie at the Deutsche Bank Championship was bigger than it seemed.  Johnson hit a curving 26 footer on the 18th hole to finish tied for 27th at -10, but the putt also moved him past Webb Simpson in to 10th place in the President's Cup U.S. team standings and clinched the final automatic bid for the event.

Johnson fell behind Simpson last week when he skipped the Barclays Classic to be the best man in his brother's wedding.

The top ten earn automatic spots, U.S. team captain Fred Couples will make 2 wild card selections later this week.
