DYERSVILLE (KWWL) -
The Field of Dreams had the look of the movie of the same name Sunday night as the ghost players emerged from the corn and onto the field at night. This is the first time the ghost players have played on the Field of Dreams at night. At least 100 people sat anxiously waiting to see the ghosts arrive from the cornfields. They said they decided to make a night game this week because the holiday allowed people and kids to stay out later. The ghost players hope the night game will add even more magic to the Field of Dreams movie site.
Frank Dardis is a Field of Dreams ghost player.
"The field is magic it's got a life of it's own. Since 1988, they tried to plow it under and it came back. People come here everyday all over the world to have a good time and it's infectious here," Dardis said.
The ghost players will take the field only two more times this season on September 15 and 29, but both of those games are in the daylight.
