Clinton man ejected from car after driver falls asleep at wheel

GRUNDY COUNTY (KWWL) -

A Sunday morning car crash sent two people to the hospital.

The Grundy County Sheriff's Office reports 31-year old Michelle Busse of Clinton was driving a Jeep Wrangler on Highway 20 at about 7:30 a.m. when she fell asleep at the wheel and lost control of the vehicle before rolling several times into the ditch.

Authorities report a passenger, 43-year old Steve Armsted of Clinton, was ejected from the vehicle. He's in an Iowa City hospital. According to police reports, Busse was also taken to a hospital. No condition updates were available. Authorities said the crash is still under investigation.
