Iowa Hawkeye recruit Jay Scheel and the Union Knights opened the season against 2012 playoff qualifier Center Point-Urbana.
Center Point Urbana's first play from scrimmage is a 55 yard run by #32 Nick Dighton who gets all the way down to the Knights 15-yard line. The drive ends, however, in a missed field goal.
Later on in the first quarter, the Stormin' Pointers win the ball again after a Union turnover, but they get stuffed on this 4th-down play as No. 61, Dakota Hopper, comes up big to stop another drive.
Union with the ball, and on the last play of the first quarter, Jay Scheel goes up the middle, cuts to the outside, and spins his way into the end zone for the 17-yard TD run to put the Knights up 7-0.
Then in the second quarter, Union with the ball again on a 4th and 3 on the CPU 23 -- Scheel does it again as he sprints and breaks a couple of tackles, and races into the end zone for the easy 23-yard TD run to make it 13-0 Knights.
Union goes on to win 26-16.
