IOWA CITY (KWWL) -
Discussions continue in several nations on what to do about the alleged chemical attack in Syria. Friday President Obama met with his national security team in the Situation Room of the White House. Obama has been making a case to act quickly against the Syrian government but many in Congress are wary.
In Iowa City a small group of people is protesting the way the government is handling the situation in Syria. These people hope that we won't go to war with Syria.
They say they don't feel it's justified and believe that President Obama shouldn't send troops because Congress hasn't declared war.
"Not only is it wrong, in the terms of the reason why we're doing it, the way in which we are doing it is also illegal," said Ed Flaherty, Rally Organizer.
There's another rally against possible war with Syria Saturday in Iowa City. That will be held in College Green Park at 10 a.m.
