WATERLOO (KWWL) - Portions of eastern Iowa were without power Friday for about one hour.

MidAmerican Energy reported more than 7,000 customers without power at one point. Iowa City had more than 800 customers without power.

MidAmerican says the power outages, which lasted between 10 and 50 minutes, were due to a cable fault.

They say the boundaries for the outages were:

North of River: Between West Donald Street, the Cedar River, East Fourth Street and Fairview Avenue.

South of River: Between the Cedar River, Ridgeway Avenue, Ninth Street and Sergeant Road.
