Eastern Iowa farmers say they need more rain

DUBUQUE COUNTY (KWWL) -

This warmer weather and lack of rain is leading Eastern Iowa farmers to say they just need a little bit more rain to help with their crops. Although rain fell just a week ago, Eastern Iowa farmers are feeling the heat. They say next weeks forecast of no rain is not going to help.

"Its been a week ago today we just had about an inch (of rain) here, so that helped a lot, he said. "I call it my million dollar rains, but we are going to need a few more of those yet before harvest time I think."

Turnis says although more rain is needed, he does say his crops are growing well compared to other areas.

"We are probably in a lot better shape then a lot of people right now as far as crops and all that." Turnis said.
