New hog confinement in Center Point gets OK from DNR

Posted: Updated:
CENTER POINT (KWWL) -

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources will allow a controversial hog confinement in Linn County.

The DNR issued a draft permit Wednesday for a Center Point farmer looking to build a confinement for 4,000 pigs.

Multiple neighbors have opposed the proposal. The DNR says the project meets all distance and design criteria.

The Linn County supervisors have 14 days to appeal the DNR's decision.
