CEDAR RAPIDS (KWWL) -

A vacant Cedar Rapids home was damaged Tuesday morning.

Firefighters were called to 932 Maplewood Drive NE at around 9:47 a.m. Tuesday after neighbors saw smoke coming from the home.

Public Information Officer Greg Buelow says that crews arrived to find smoke coming from the eaves.

He says once firefighters were inside, they found that the majority of the fire was in the kitchen. They were able to contain a majority of the damage to that area.

Buelow says the home is owned by Ray and Teresa Van Deusen of Cedar Rapids.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
