Sumner motorcyclist facing numerous charges after rear-ending minivan

Posted: Updated:

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office says a motorcyclist faces numerous charges after rear-ending a minivan on Y Avenue Saturday night.

Deputies say 46-year-old David Earl Seeman of Sumner was riding his motorcycle on Y Avenue, near 120th Street, and did not see a minivan driven by 41-year-old Christa Lynn Leach of Jesup waiting to turn into a driveway.

Deputies say Seeman was thrown from the motorcycle after rear-ending the minivan and he was taken to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein where he was treated and released.

The sheriff's office says Seeman is charged with operating while intoxicated, driving while license suspended, possession of a controlled substance, following too closely and failure to file special restrictive insurance.
