Red Cross helping six people after fire in Iowa City

IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

The Red Cross is assisting six people after fire in Iowa City early Sunday morning.

It happened just after 1:30 a.m. at 2332 Lakeside Drive. The Iowa City Fire Department reports crews saw smoke coming out the front door of the building.

Everyone in the building was outside when firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.

It took firefighters about 45 minutes to put out the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
