WAVERLY (KWWL) -

Nashua-Plainfield stole the spotlight of the only game played in the state of Iowa on Saturday night.  The Huskies rolled past North Tama 48-0 to open the season.

The Huskies took advantage of a Redhawk team that graduated 97.2% of their scoring from last year's squad.

Nashua-Plainfield quarterback opened the scoring with a 1 yard keeper, and they'd never look back after that.  Hunter Mueller had a huge first half, first ripping off a 58 yard touchdown run, while also scoring on a spectacular 83 yard punt return.  Running back Zade McCall added a pair of first half touchdowns as well.

Defensively the Huskies allowed just 6 yards of total offense in the game.
