Two Waterloo men were arrested as a result of a break-in in Waterloo on Thursday morning.

Waterloo Police were called to 1028 Lincoln Street at around 11:30 a.m. on a report of two suspects breaking into that residence.

When officers arrived, they took one suspect into custody outside the residence. The second suspect refused to exit the house, according to police.

The suspects' names are Michael Maurice Carter, 22, and Corion Jamal Pursley, 18, both of Waterloo. It was not immediately clear which suspect was which.

Carter was charged with second-degree burglary. Pursley was charged with second-degree burglary and carrying weapons.

Police secured the area and called in the Tactical Unit and Negotiation Team. After the team arrived, they gained contact with the second suspect and talked the suspect into surrendering.

Police found no one else inside the residence.

The investigation continues.
