Former Hawk Bowen hired by Sacramento Kings

Former Hawkeye Basketball star and assistant coach Ryan Bowen has been hired as an assistant coach and assistant director of player development for the NBA Sacramento Kings.

Bowen arrives in Sacramento with ties to new general manager Pete D'Alessandro.  The 37-year-old spent the previous two seasons with D'Alessandro in Denver, working as an assistant under former head coach  George Karl.  Prior to joining the Nuggets' coaching staff, Bowen worked as a video coordinator at the University of Iowa, his alma mater.

Bowen played for four different teams in 10 NBA seasons.
