WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Owners of a Waterloo nail salon are facing fines for apparently bribing inspectors.

L.A. Nails Salon and Spa owners Tommy Bao Nguyen and Marie Y Huynh have been fined by the Iowa Board of Cosmetology.

It comes after a 2011 complaint where the Salon was accused of engaging in unsanitary practices, employing unlicensed individuals and even attempting to bribe inspectors with gift cards.

In a plea agreement, each owner will pay a $500 fine. A $1,000 fine has been assessed to L.A. Nails Salon and Spa.
