Cedar Valley Sportsplex enters hiring phase

Posted: Updated:
WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The new Cedar Valley Sportsplex may not be completed yet, but they are now in the hiring phase.

The Human Resources Committee approved the move to start the hiring process at Monday night's Waterloo City Council meeting.

They plan to hire five full-time employees, but two of them will be promotions of existing Leisure Services staff.

"Ballard and King did recommend 13 full-time employees. We feel like we can do this with a combination of full time and part time," said Paul Huting, Leisure Services director. "We'll have at least 50 part-time employees, and along with that we'll also have some contracted labor."

As for the part-time positions, Huting says it may be a few weeks before they will be posted for people to apply.
