WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Waterloo Police have arrested a man they say robbed a Waterloo grocery store Monday night.

Police say 49-year-old Anthony Gardner of Waterloo robbed Hometown Foods on East Mitchell Avenue Monday night around 8:20 p.m.

Police say Gardner pushed an employee, then grabbed money from a cash register before running away west of the store. The employee was not injured.

Police say a tip to Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers led to Gardner's arrest for 2nd degree robbery.  He has also been charged with 2nd degree robbery in the March 2011 robbery of the Dollar General store on W. 5th St. in Waterloo.  Police also charged him with theft from that store earlier this month.

He's in the Black Hawk County Jail.
