Butter cow draws support after vandalism

Posted: Updated:
DES MOINES (KWWL) -

After it was vandalized with red paint the first weekend of the fair, people are now showing their support for the Iowa State Fair butter cow.

The Blue Ribbon Foundation started making yellow "Butter Cow Security" T-shirts and selling them at the Fair in support of the cow.

The Foundation has sold over 3,000 shirts so far, and thousands more have been ordered.

The animal rights group Iowans for Animal Liberation said it doesn't know who is responsible for the act, but the group is still in favor of the vandalism.

Shirts are still being sold even after the Fair, and can be bought at www.blueribbonfoundation.org/statefairstore for $17.
