WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Rescuers used the jaws of life to pull a woman from a car wreck in Waterloo on Monday.

It happened at the corner of East 5th Street and Franklin Avenue around 5:30 p.m.

Rescuers used the jaws to cut the driver side door off one car, and then pulled the woman from the wreck. Her two-month-old son was also in the car at the time, but was unharmed. The mother was taken from the scene by ambulance, and is expected to survive.

The other driver was uninjured. Officials are still working to determine the cause of the accident, and names have not yet been released.
