Waterhawks now ranked 6th in the country

Posted: Updated:
EVANSDALE (KWWL) -

It was a big weekend for the Waterhawks, who finished in the top 10 in at the National Championship tournament at Shorewood Park in Rockford, Ill.

The Waterhawks earned their ranking by beating eight of the 14 teams.

The pressure was on as the Waterhawks only had one chance to impress the judges.  But their routine was nearly flawless.

It was not only good enough for a sixth-in-the-country ranking, it also earned veteran Garth Peter an individual award. He won the most outstanding skier of the tournament -- a first for the Waterhawks.

This was the best finish for the Waterhawks in their more than 50-year history.

To catch the record-breaking, history-making Waterhawks, you've got three more chances to see their show on Eagle Lake in Evansdale. Their next show is Aug. 17 at 6 p.m. in Nashua. They also have shows on Aug. 18 and 25 as well as Sept. 2.
