Meth lab bust in North Liberty

NORTH LIBERTY (KWWL) -

An apartment building was evacuated and two people charged after a meth lab was discovered in North Liberty. Officers say they stopped two people in the parking lot on Sugar Creek Lane Thursday around 9:45 p.m. Officers say they discovered materials used to make methamphetamine. The discovery lead officers to believe there was a lab in the nearby apartment. They evacuated the building for safety reasons. Inside the apartment, officers found a meth lab.

Joshua York, 36, was charged with gathering for the use of drugs, possession of a controlled substance,  and manufacturing meth. He was taken to the Johnson County Jail. Janelle Davis, 35, was taken to an area hospital and treated with signs of an overdose. She will be taken to the Johnson County Jail following her release. Davis is charged with gathering for the use of drugs, possession of pseudo ephedrine with the intent to manufacture, manufacturing meth, distribution of pseudo ephedrine as well as an outstanding warrant.  Residents were allowed to return to their apartments after drug officers cleared out the drug making goods.
