One person is injured after falling 40 feet from a forklift while cutting off the top of a tree in Jones County.
The Jones County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened just after 5 p.m. Wednesday evening in the 6000 block of 130th Street near Onslow.
They say 46-year-old Damon Power used a log chain to attach the top of the tree to a forklift boom to prevent it from falling on a nearby building.
Authorities say the wind shifted, moving the tree and causing the forklift to tip over.
As the equipment was falling, Power jumped to the ground.
Power was airlifted to an Iowa City hospital. He is expected to be OK.
