DUBUQUE (KWWL) -
The Heritage Center at the University of Dubuque opened to the public Wednesday evening. The facilities open house allowed students, faculty, and the public to view the nearly $30 million facility. Visitors were treated to food while they toured different areas of the facility including the centers student spaces, Black Box theater and Main Performance hall. University of Dubuque officials say they hope the new hall will allow growth in the universities art programs.
Thomas Robbins is Executive Director the University of Dubuque's Heritage Center.
"Our performing arts was house in two chapel buildings on campus," he said. "Obviously, their are some limitations with what we accomplish in those buildings. This opens it up wide for us to be more professional and to do more with the facility."
