OELWEIN (KWWL) -
The Oelwein Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding an Arlington man the led officers on high-speed chase and then fled through a corn field.
Police say the suspect they are looking for is 38-year-old Kyle Dwayne Boleyn of Arlington. He is wanted on charges of eluding law enforcement, speed 90 mph in a 35 mph speed zone, speed 50 mph in a 25 mph speed zone and numerous other traffic violations.
Officers say they spotted a white 1997 Buick LeSabre driving erratically at about 6 a.m. Monday.
Police say that after seeing the driver violate numerous traffic laws, they tried to stop him in the 200 block of 3rd Avenue NE, but the driver instead took off at high speeds through residential areas.
Police say the vehicle eventually ended up in a ditch north of 6th Street on Outer Road.
The passenger was taken into custody for questioning, but the driver ran into a corn field.
After searching for Boleyn for more than an hour, the search was called off due to the weather.
