DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Third Street in Dubuque was shut down for nearly six hours Sunday afternoon after a head-on crash involving a motorcycle and a car. The crash occurred around 9 a.m. Sunday morning on the Third Street overpass in Dubuque. The Dubuque Police Department says a motorcycle driven by Scotty Birch of Dubuque was heading west on Third Street, when it collided with an SUV traveling east on Third Street. That SUV was driven by Robert Zurbriggen of Elgin. Birch was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, but serious injuries to his leg.  The Dubuque Police Department says the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
