LINN COUNTY (KWWL) -

The Linn County Sheriff's Office has released the name of a semi driver killed in an accident just after 1 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Highway 13 and Highway 30.

Sergeant Richard Yoder says a semi tanker driven by 68-year-old Loras John Pfab of Bernard was southbound on Highway 13, entering the off-ramp/on-ramp to eastbound Highway 30, when he lost control and the semi overturned on the roadway.

The semi then slid through the guard rail into the south ditch overturning several times coming to rest at the bottom of a steep grade.

Pfab was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was hurt in the crash.

The ramp from southbound Highway 13 to eastbound Highway 30 was closed for much of the day on Sunday.

The accident remains under investigation.
