UPDATE: Victim of Friday night Linn Co. crash dies in hospital

LINN COUNTY (KWWL) -

The Linn County Sheriff's Office says one person has died as a result of a crash that injured four others on Friday night.

Troy Cowan, 25, of Arkansas, died Tuesday morning at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, according to Sgt. Richard Yoder.

Austin Keilholtz, 24, of Cape Coral, Fla., was driving on Hindman Road about 3/4 of a mile south of County Home Road at around 9:18 p.m. Friday when he lost control of his SUV.

The vehicle went into the east ditch and hit a power line pole, according to officials.

Keilholtz and three other passengers in the car were also injured but expected to be OK.

Corey Merritt, 24, of Cape Coral, Fla., was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with non-life-threatening injuries.

Harden Kemper, 22, of Damascus, Arkansas; and Ashley Block, 22, of Marion, were both taken to St. Luke's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the crash.
