WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A Gilbertville man face drug charges following a traffic stop in downtown Waterloo early Friday morning.

Chad Weyland, 35, was stopped by authorities on Franklin Street around 4 a.m. Friday.

During the stop, the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office said they discovered Weyland was drunk, and he was arrested for operating while intoxicated.

But while preparing the vehicle to be towed, the deputy says he found a quantity of meth.

Weyland now faces possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and failure to affix a drug tax stamp in addition to the OWI charge.

Weyland is being held at the Black Hawk County Jail on a $106,000 bond.
