Thousands turn out for 18th annual Taste of Dubuque
DUBUQUE (KWWL) -
Thousands made their way to the Port of Dubuque Thursday evening for the 18th annual Taste of Dubuque.
This year, 12 vendors gave out samples of different foods that are available within the Dubuque area.
The Taste of Dubuque has been on a Saturday night since 2008. This year, officials decided to move the Taste of Dubuque to a weeknight, said John Sutter, director of marketing at the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium.
"It was becoming such a huge festival and we really wanted it to be a quaint, family-oriented event," he said. "So moving it back to a weeknight, we think we can really accomplish that."
Along with sampling different foods around the Dubuque area, a fun house, kids games and live music was also available to attendees.
Proceeds from the Taste of Dubuque will be donated to the Dubuque County Historical Society.
