MONONA COUNTY (KWWL) -
A county auditor was arrested Monday on charges of meth during a drug sting operation.
Brooke Kuhlmann, 27, the Monona County Auditor, was arrested Monday and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Iowa Department of Public Safety.
Kuhlmann scheduled a purchase and pick-up of "a quantity" of methamphetamine from an Iowa State Trooper.
The trooper, who went unnamed, found Kuhlmann after seizing a dealer's phone on Sunday, police said.
Shortly after Kuhlmann received the drugs, Onawa Police executed a traffic stop.
Kuhlmann was released on a promise to appear in court.
