BUCHANAN COUNTY (KWWL) -

A Winthrop woman with Alzheimer's was found Thursday after a search was launched to find her earlier in the day.

The Buchanan County Sheriff's Office said Thursday afternoon that Evelyn Francis Lang, 75, had been found safe in Grand Island, Neb., at an undetermined time Thursday.

Lang, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, had been missing since Thursday. She was last seen in Kearney, Neb., at a gas station.

Grand Island is just north of I-80, and a few dozen miles east of Kearney.

Officials says Lang visited her sister in Rowley and was planning on driving home to Winthrop, but never arrived there.

Kearney is 474 miles away from Winthop by way of Interstate 80.
