BREMER COUNTY (KWWL) -

Authorities have released the names of the drivers involved in a fatal accident in Bremer County Wednesday afternoon.

Verle Wygle, 58, of Waterloo, was allegedly driving a truck northbound in a southbound lane of Hwy. 218 when he collided with Tracy Lynn Willis, 51, of Faribault, Minn., according to the Bremer County Sheriff's Office.

Willis was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wygle was transported to Allen Hospital in Waterloo. His condition is unknown.

The crash happened about one mile north of Janesville on Hwy. 218 near the intersection with 260th Street. The Bremer County Sheriff's Office received a call about a red truck driving northbound in one of the southbound lanes.

Authorities were unable to respond before the truck collided head-on with another vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation.

Traffic was re-routed to continue down the highway and backed up for a few miles.

In addition, authorities say three other vehicles were involved in the initial crash, but there were no additional reports of injuries.
