New York hospitals prescribe fruits and vegetables to patients

NEW YORK CITY (KWWL) -

 Two New York hospitals are the latest to join in a national movement, allowing doctors to prescribe fruit and vegetables to patients. The patients exchange the prescription at local farmer's markets for reduce cost of produce. The patients must qualify financially and also get nutrition counseling.

The program is part of an organization called "Wholesome Wave".
