Don Bosco advances and Janesville falls at State Softball

FT. DODGE (KWWL) -

The state softball tournament got off to a rough start for 5th ranked Don Bosco on Monday -- Number

6 Lynnville-Sully jumped out to a 3, nothing lead --

and kept pouring it on in the 5th as Becca Vos drilled a double to left-center scoring one, as the Hawks

got 2 in the inning for a 5 run lead --

but that's when the Dons came alive -- sophomore Morgan Frost found the left-center gap to score a

pair of runs to make it a 5, 2 game --

next batter -- Karli Welter would square one up and send it deep and gone over the left-field fence, 2 run

shot would make it a one run game --

Same score in the 7th -- Dons down to their final out as Morgan Frost pops it up on the infield -- but the

ball would get bobbled and dropped -- Don Bosco gets one last life --

and Welter takes advantage with her second 2 run blast of the game -- unbelievable finish on the walk-off

home run -- the Dons rally their way in to the semis with a 6, 5 win

Also in 1-A -- Janesville made their first ever trip to the state tournament -- but the Wildcats would fall behind top ranked Akron-Westfield early --

Jordan Hansen grounds out to first -- but a run scores on the fielders choice as A-W took the early 1, oh edge --

the Wildcats got that one back in the 2nd as the ball squirts away on the steal attempt -- that allows Katie Watson

to score to tie it up at one --

but Akron Westfield was a bit too much -- Danika Tindall scores on the squeez play -- Janesville fought hard -- but would fall 9 to 7 --
