Eating breakfast may indicate heart health

Whether you eat breakfast or not could be an indicator of your heart health, according to a Harvard University study.

Researchers looked at data collected from 26,000 men who were asked about their breakfast habits and followed them for 16 years.

They found the men who skipped breakfast had a 27 percent increased risk for heart attack or death from heart disease when compared to men who started the day with a healthy meal.

Men who skipped breakfast were also more likely to smoke, be less physically active and drink more alcohol.

Outside experts say this study suggests eating breakfast is one of several healthy behaviors you can do to improve heart health.

However, if you already have an unhealthy lifestyle, simply adding breakfast is not going to have an impact
