DUBUQUE (KWWL) -
According to the Iowa Department of Transportation, one section of the U.S. 151/61/52 project is about a month a head of schedule. The DOT says they have made great strides since the rain has let up.
They say the southbound lane reconstruction at Twin Valley Drive was expedited and completed a head of schedule. The DOT says they plan on reopening the lanes right two lanes on weekends, but closing them while construction work is taking place.
The Iowa Department of Transportation also says traffic flow at U.S. 151/61/52 and Twin Valley Drive is also different. They say the southbound and northbound traffic flows straight through the intersection now, instead of having a lane shift happening in the intersection with Twin Valley Drive. The left turn lane has also been made longer.
The Iowa Department of Transportation says they hope to set girders for the new bridge by the end this month.
