Student loan deal reached

Posted: Updated:
WASHINGTON, D.C. (KWWL) -

Senators from both parties came to a deal Thursday that should keep student loan interest rates low.

The bipartisan group said the agreement would keep interest rates below four percent -- for now. This applies to all students that borrow from the federal government. However, the interest rates will be tied to financial markets, which means they will most likely rise in the future.
